It took me way to long to get updated photos up, but here they are. I snapped these with my iphone, so they aren’t professional, but still a lot of fun!

Alchemilla Trial Kits! September 28, 2008

I just got an amazing new product from Alchemilla! They are the coolest trial kits, designed by each skin type(normal, oily, combination, dry, and normal). Each one includes a cleanser, exfoliant, toner, re-hydrating essence, a treatment cream, moisturizer, masque, and sample of the antioxidant serum. My clients are loving these kits and so am I. It’s the perfect way to try before you invest in the full size versions.

I love suggesting this option to my clients who know they aren’t going to have time for every step of a perfect skin care routine. These kits help to figure out which steps you can’t live with out and which products will(even though will benefit your skin) end up just sitting on your shelf.

Not to mention these are perfect for traveling!!!! Just the right size of every product your skin needs when changing environments. I take mine to the gym.

Diamond Micro-dermabrasion September 15, 2008

It’s here!! I was just delivered my brand new Diamond Micro-dermabrasion machine. This is the perfect answer to a intense exfoliation, but still keeping with my holistic approach to skin care.

The results are very comparable to the traditional form of micro-dermabrasion… we can treat a variety of skin issues; acne scars, post inflammation from breakouts, pigmentation, blackheads/whiteheads, fine lines, wrinkles, and more… The best part is that with the new technology of the diamond encrusted wand we can get all of these wonderful results without the use of traditional aluminum-oxide crystals. Which are not very chemical free.

I will be offering two types of services with the Diamond Micro. One treatment alone or add it onto your organic facial for best results. It will help penetrate all the wonderful ingredients we use on your skin.

I look forward to sharing this new service with all my clients!

Boy, do you need a facial! July 23, 2008

I have been so surprised with the amount of my clients who never had a facial before… There is quite a necessity for Sugaring, but when it comes to skin care I have found that many people see it as just a luxury.

Yes, there are many things about a facial that are luxurious. The hand, arm, shoulder, face, and neck massage can be heavenly, but they also promote Lymphatic drainage and Circulation which helps with the tone of your skin and to clear up congestion. Massage can also help to penetrate wonderful organic essential oils throughout the skin giving therapeutic benefits to your skin and mind.  Whether your looking for the anti-depressant  benefits of bergamot or re-energize with grapefruit and lime, these oils are customized to your needs throughout your facial.

Other reasons for monthly or bi-monthly facials-

*Steaming-opens pores and gives a deeper cleanse and penetration of products.

*Professional Products-Esthetitician’s use higher concentrated products to give your skin a boost from your daily skin care regimen.

*Exfoliation- You can exfoliate to much, so leave the deep exfoliation to the professionals during your facials and use something genle 2x a week. I recommend the Alchemilla Exfoliating Face Wash Cream. Exfoliation boosts cellular renewal, fights pigmentation, and more… More about all the wonderful benefits of exfoliating in a future post.

*Extractions- Estheticians are trained to extract open comedones(blackheads/whiteheads) without doing harm to the skin. This extraction part of the facial is very important because if left to long a comedone can make a pore larger. Yikes!

*Massage-One of the top reasons clients schedule facials. One client commented to me “It almost feels like a 2 for 1. Great looking skin and deep relaxation!”

*Masque- A step we miss very often during a busy lives. In a facial we can give you the time you need to soak up a therapeutic mask completely customized to your skin care needs.

All of this, is followed up with your customized toner, serums, moisturizer, eye treatment, lip care, and skin care recommendations to give your skin the very best at home. Everything that your skin has been craving to look and feel it’s very best.

I hope I have given you inspiration to find out for yourself how effective facials really are. I would love to offer to my first time facial clients:

See you soon,

                                                                               Darling

Just the beginning! March 31, 2008

So exciting! The beginning of Darling Skincare!

Right now, I am prepping the space that I will be working in(what I like to call my studio) and waiting for my equipment to arrive. We just finally got finished painting. I love the results paint can give to a space, but it sure can be tedious. Everything is looking great. I am looking forward to the studio being a place where each of my clients can feel like it’s their own little sanctuary. It’s nice to be on the second floor and feel a little hidden away. The reading room is bright and airy and I painted my treatment room a basil green. It reminds me of why I live in Seattle. It’s so beautiful! I can’t wait to share it with everyone!

I think I will be available for facials, body treatments, and bronzes by the end of next week and Sugaring by the beginning of next month! Call me in your in need of a treatment soon.

Love Always,

Darling
